This Dominican Republic project was planned for farm-scale potato and carrot washing before packing. The customer needed a line that could remove soil, reduce surface water and connect directly with weighing and bagging.
Joyshine configured a continuous process with feeding and buffering, bubble washing, air drying and automatic packing. The layout helps the customer reduce manual handling between washing and packing while keeping a stable 5000kg/h production target.
Customer Requirements
- High capacity washing - Keep stable output around 5000kg/h for farm-scale handling
- Soil removal - Remove field soil before weighing and packing
- Lower labor input - Reduce repeated manual loading, washing and bagging work
- Packing readiness - Remove surface water before automatic packing
Line Process Flow
- Feeding and buffering - Bulk materials are lifted into the line and buffered before washing
- Bubble washing - Air bubbles and water flow loosen soil on potatoes and carrots
- Air drying - Air knives remove surface water before packing
- Automatic packing - Finished roots are weighed and packed into larger bags
Installation and Results
The line was designed around the customer's packing workflow and tested before shipment. The layout keeps washing, drying and packing in a continuous path to reduce material handling.
- Capacity - Designed for 5000kg/h root vegetable handling
- Workflow - Washing, drying and packing connected in one line
- Labor saving - Less manual transfer between washing and packing
- Product readiness - Reduced surface water before final bagging
The continuous washing and packing workflow helps us handle potatoes and carrots faster during the busy harvest season.
